I feel as if my motor has been running nonstop and I can finally breathe.  There are so many things I’ve wanted to blog and share over the past 7 days, but for this post it’s all about Comic Con.

My reason for going to Comic Con 2011 was to support and promote the movie Sushi Girl.  I have a small role in the film which truly has the best ensamble cast of any movie I’ve ever been in.  Thank you to writer, producer and all around great man Destin Pfaaf for the opportunity to be in a film with Mark Hamill, Tony Todd, Danny Trejo, Noah Hathaway, Jeff Fahey, Jimmy Duval, Andy Mackenzie and David Dastmachian.

I’m thinking the same things as you right now.

1.  Could I not just take off my red shirt and blend in more?

2.  How the hell did I end up in this movie.  I’m not worthy.

3.  Mark Hamill looks great.

4.  I miss the show LOST (Yes the man in the white sweater flew the plane off the island).

5.  Candyman is a bad ass dude.

The movie comes out later this year!

As I drove into the KROQ parking lot last week, I noticed a man too good looking to just be a normal employee of the station.  As I drove past this man, I noticed it was Gavin Rossdale, what the hell was he doing in our parking lot?  I soon found out the answer.

Gavin was there to bring me the brand new single from Bush called “The Sound of Winter”.  Again, this was a day in my little radio world that excited me.  Being the first in the world to play a song from a well known artist in this day and age is not easy to do.  So many songs leak well ahead of release dates these days.

How is Gavin you ask?  He is a very cool guy.  Gracious, appreciative, determined, tough and ready to do what’s needed for success.  His excitement was evident to me as I blasted the new Bush song out to the city of Los Angeles.

The Sea of Memories is the first Bush album in 10 years and will be out September 13, 2011.

ZERO-How much hair I now have on my face.

800 days or more-The last time I had a 100% clean face.

And of course here is a shot with the beard. Every pic I have taken the past few years has some facial hair involved.

Now let’s get back to more important issues like…..well i can’t think of anything this moment but I’ll come up with something.

It came and went so fast.  There was three months of hype, build up and excitement.  It was like a wedding.  So much talk, so big, it was an event, not just a concert.

LA Rising was held in The Los Angeles Coliseum, home of the 1984 Olympics, LA Raiders, USC Football and it’s still standing strong.  It could have come down Saturday night, there was a fire or two in the crowd, mosh pits over a 100 deep and the gathering of 70,000 people screaming about a “Bullet in the Head”, luckily it all went smooth as it can be for an event that size.  Here are a few shots from the night.

This was such a huge thrill for me to sit down with music legend Jerry Heller.  I don’t think I had ever heard his side of what happened between him and Ice Cube.  To hear him talk about Eazy, Dre, Ren, Yella and Cube was just so surreal.

So I was lucky enough to be invited to James Loney of the LA Dodgers charity bowling event. It was a really fun night at Lucky Strike in downtown Los Angeles. There were many celebs and most of the Dodgers in attendance. My favorite of all of them was Doug Robb from Hoobastank. He IS one of the nicest, wittiest, most fun, gracious guys I have ever met. I think I first interviewed him in 2001. It was nice to reconnect with him on an elevator/escalator.
